About Us
USA Roofing started in 1978 with a borrowed ladder, a secondhand pickup, and a hailstorm that flattened half of Cedar County in a single July afternoon. Ray Dunleavy, a framing carpenter who had just been laid off, spent that summer climbing his neighbors' roofs for whatever they could spare: a casserole, a tank of gas, a handshake and a promise to pay in the fall. By September he had patched eighty-three houses and hired his first crew: his brother, his cousin, and a kid from down the street who was scared of heights until he wasn't. Word spread the way it does in small towns. By the following spring he had more work than he had crew. Four decades later we still run the business out of the same county, and we still answer the phone the same way Ray did: tell us what's leaking, and we'll be there before the next storm.
